Examples of Puerto Paz Coming True in Real Life
- Walden Pond bans swimming: (Re=posting something I posted on Facebook back on July 2, 2021) In the novel, the USA has split into 2 countries, 4 extremist cultures. The order-liberal controlled area banned swimming in the ocean because it was too risky and the main character was shocked and dismayed, as was in July 2021... IRL Massachusetts clamped down on open-water swimming due to more drownings than normal. They later changed their policy, but wow, I couldn't believe they did a ban at all. This is one of my favorite places for open-water swimming... safer than the ocean, and not many inland bodies of water allow swimming, due to so many being water reservoirs.
