This is the OLD blog... it was mostly about the writing, publishing, and promotion of the book. I am switching to a NEW blog here... the reason: On this old blog posts are forced to be sorted reverse chronological order. On the new blog I'm going to switch to a way that I can sort by importance. I find myself more and more disliking the concept of prioritizing by newest. I'll do a table of contents that includes dates to help see what is new to you, but otherwise, put what I consider most important at the top.
I fixed the snafu that was preventing my e-book from being free everywhere, so NOW you can download it for free from a wide variety of sites, including www.puertopaz.com, of course.
---------------- Definitely free: Amazon/Kindle Barnes & Noble/Nook Kobo Google Play Books Vivlio ------------------ Not sure whether free (I don't own any Apple products so they won't show me the price): Apple ------------------ It is also on, or in the process of being loaded onto multiple lending site, but often those distribution channels require a minimum $0.99 charge: BorrowBox ; Baker & Taylor ; Overdrive (in progress) ; Tolino (in progress) ; Bibliotheca (in progress) ; Hoopla (in progress) ; Scribd (in progress) "Puerto Paz" is coming true again. In the novel (e-book free), the USA has split into 2 countries, 4 extremist cultures. The order-liberal controlled area banned swimming in the ocean because it was too risky and the main character was shocked and dismayed, as I am now... IRL Massachusetts clamping down on open-water swimming due to more drownings lately than normal.

I'm releasing the book for sale today! The print book will start out being available only on Amazon, and the e-book only on Amazon and Barnes & Noble, but I'll be making it available on other platforms as soon as those other platforms complete their review and approval processes.
Formatting of the book hit a few snags, and has been proceeding more slowly than anticipated. I'm currently planning to release three versions of the book relatively soon (hopefully by April 15, and maybe sooner so that people stuck at home during the Covid-19 pandemic can have something new to keep them entertained):
The book is currently in the hands of formatters ("interior design"). Estimating release in March, 2020, perhaps April.
Getting ready to send the book out for final editing. Have I mentioned previously that everything takes way longer than anticipated, especially when you're fitting writing in around a stressful day job with long hours?
The editing process has been way more difficult than writing the first draft. I'm now at the point where the story is what the story is, and I'm just looking to clean up the grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc. before getting the book formatted and ready to publish. |
